Letter of explanation in response with first warning letter at work

Dear Mr. Patterson,
My records show that I am always coming late in my duty for three consecutive days. Because of this reason I am given my first warning letter this morning. I know that this is not acceptable and this will create bad records on me.
I am writing to explain my side regarding this matter. My mother is already old and I need someone who will be with her in our house. I need t wait for my sister who is living at Springfield Street so she can be with our mother. I know that this is not reasonable enough to make me excuse for the late I accumulated.
This matter has been resolved by our family and my cousin will be there with us to take good care of my mother.
I will surely do my best to improve and to come to my duty on time.
